Praxis project Space & Gallery

ABOUT:

A pop-up project that originally activated the empty storefront of 85 Court St. with arts and cultural programming. This project supports emerging and experimental artists with exhibition opportunities, free professional practice programming, and community building for artists. Praxis was hosted by 85 Court St. From Jan. 2025 - August 2025 and hosted 8 months of rotating exhibitions that showcased the work of over 30 artists spanning disciplines (poetry, photography, collage, painting, printmaking, sculpture, new media, film, dance, theater, DIY etc.) with local ties.

Praxis now exists as pop-up project centered on community building through creative engagements.

This project is a collaboration between local artist and arts professional, Anna Warfield and ChaShaMa, a nonprofit that helps create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive world by partnering with property owners to transform unused real estate. This project is made possible with the generous support of ChaShaMa, NYSCA, and the Community Foundation for South Central New York.
