ABOUT:
A repeat topic of conversation with creative peers is access to resources. While some artists don't know where to even begin to access funding, those who locate opportunities find the process unapproachable. The Artist Grant Navigation project was born to connect artists in Broome and Tioga with grant opportunities earmarked for them, guiding them through the often intimidating grant writing process, and connecting artists to fiscal sponsorship and program partners. Artist Grant Navigation it’s offered for free to artists living and/or working in Broome and Tioga, and takes the form of:

This project got its start with support from the Community Foundation for South Central New York’s Arts & Culture Fund and via fiscal sponsorship through the Tioga Arts Council. Today, Artist Grant Navigation is made possible by Tioga Arts Council and New York State Council on the Arts - thank you!
Since May 2024, this project has:
Supported artists as they submitted grants that resulted in over $90,000 in awards in Broome and Tioga Counties (so far!).
Offered 33 workshops on grant specifics (grant writing terminology, budgets, artist statements, etc.).
Hosted 3 artist + nonprofit networking events to facilitate relationship building with potential parters in advance of grant deadlines.
Provided over 10,000 minutes of one-on-one support through office hours.
